The term professional learning community describes a collegial group of school faculty and staff who are united in their commitment to student learning. Teachers learn to work and practice collaboratively in an effort to improve student learning. The benefits to the staff and students include a reduced isolation of teachers, involved and committed teachers, and academic gains for students. The professional learning community is a potent strategy for school improvement. |
